Different manufacturers give sizes in different ways, some may measure them in centimetres, others in inches, and others might simply call a frame size small, medium, large or extra large.Īlthough frame sizes are based on the measurement of the seat tube, it isn’t just the seat tube that changes dependant on the size, the proportions of the frame change in relation to the frame size. On the other hand, some manufacturers measure things in a different way, their measurements might be from the intersection of the top tube and seat post to the bottom bracket, which can make a muddle of the sizings. Bike manufacturers tend to measure from the centre of the bottom bracket up to the top of the seat tube where the seat post is located. The size of a bike is determined by the size of the frame, which is based on the seat tube length.

The DT Swiss ARC 62s also display solid all-around performance, but skewed a bit more to the climbing side of things. The ENVE 7.8 wheels make a surprisingly good showing as “aero all-arounders”. The Scott Addict RC is the closest we have to a Tron-beater thanks to its amazing climbing performance while staying nicely aero. The Tron bike is a standout all-arounder thanks to its blazing fast flat test and mid-pack climb times.
Not surprisingly, the most aero setup (Specialized Venge S-Works + DT Swiss disc) is also the slowest climber, and the best climber (Aethos + Roval Alpinist/Lightweights) is tied for slowest on flat ground.
